Funded by the Australian Government and administered by Community and Family Services International (CFSI), the Zamboanga Recovery Project (ZRP) is helping people displaced by the 2013 Zamboanga Crisis to secure access to shelter, undertake livelihood projects, receive psychosocial support and protection through awareness raising activities, obtain civil registration documents like birth certificates, and meet other basic needs.

Under the ZRP shelter component, the Handover Ceremony of 45 permanent shelters was held in Barangay Tulungatung, Zamboanga City, Mindanao, Philippines on 02 March 2017. The ceremony was led by CFSI’s partner, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), and attended by representatives from the Australian Embassy, CFSI and CRS, led by Deputy Head of Mission Mat Kimberley, Executive Director Steven Muncy, and Davao Head of Office Orson Sargado, respectively. Also in attendance were Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco and Barangay Captain of the host community, Jojo Del Rosario.
