CFSI is pleased to announce that Mr. Peter Gibson has become a Member of the Board of Trustees. He will participate in his first meeting of the governing body of CFSI on 29 November 2012 in Metro Manila, Philippines.

Mr. Gibson joined the CFSI Board of Trustees in September 2012. A British citizen and chartered accountant, Mr. Gibson has worked and lived in the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, New Zealand, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. Based in Abu Dhabi, Mr. Gibson serves as the Manager of the Internal Audit Department of Abu Dhabi Gas Industries, Ltd., on secondment from the Shell Group, for which he has worked for three decades. In addition to his tenure in the energy industry, Mr. Gibson’s experience also includes some years of service with the auditing firm Ernst & Young. He earned his accountancy certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and received his BSC degree in Engineering from Durham University.

Mr. Gibson lived in the Philippines for many years, and has remained involved with Philippines-based organizations since leaving the country for work purposes in 2006. Prior to joining the Board, Mr. Gibson and his sons William and Nicholas helped raise funds for CFSI by undertaking a “Swim from Europe to Asia” challenge — crossing the Dardanelles Strait — in August 2011.

With his experience and expertise honed by years of working and living in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, Mr. Gibson brings unique strengths to the Board and to CFSI as a whole.
