The release of their civil documents was facilitated under the Sama Bajau Capacity Strengthening Project (SBCSP), being implemented by Community and Family Services International (CFSI) with funding support from the European Union. The Office of the Civil Registrar and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) were also part of this initiative.
