Now entering a new period of growth and development, CFSI seeks qualified applicants of diverse backgrounds with experience in development projects and preferably with working experience in conflict-affected areas in Mindanao, for the following posts, based at CFSI Operations Center in Cotabato City and Sub-Office in Iligan City.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Project Engineer will ensure the accuracy, completeness, technical appropriateness, and environmental soundness of detailed engineering designs (DED), bill of materials, and construction work. for proposed retrofitting and/or repair of facilities.
  • The Project Engineer share technical defects on reviewed works, detailed engineering design and possible cost and construction work plan implications.
  • S/he will capacitate partner Engineers, through mentoring and coaching on DED adjustments, on quality assurance and construction safety to be monitored during the construction stage of the works.
  • S/he will assist project staff and engineers respond to queries from service providers with regard to the works. S/he will conduct site inspections when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a licensed Civil Engineer with at least ten (10) years of experience in preparing and reviewing detailed engineering designs, bill of materials, and construction plans, including at least five (5) years of experience in construction supervision.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • S/he should have proficient drafting skills using AutoCAD or similar software, with experience in conflict-affected areas of Mindanao considered an
    advantage.
  • A strong understanding of the Mindanao environment and political dynamics, coupled with excellent interpersonal and community-based participatory skills, is essential.
  • Should demonstrate a proactive, rigorous, and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • The position requires someone highly organized, efficient, reliable, supportive, and flexible, particularly in a high-stress and multi-sector environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant computer applications is required, while knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Access, and Project is an advantage.
