Community and Family Services International (CFSI) assists both local government and private organizations in reaching vulnerable families and individuals in Marawi City amid the COVID-19 crisis.
With its longstanding operations to help people in need in Marawi City and other parts of Lanao areas, CFSI is able to connect local and private institutions with the qualified beneficiaries. The disadvantaged and vulnerable people, including those affected by the Marawi Seige being served by CFSI, have benefitted from these partnerships.
On 21 April, CFSI field assistants and community organizers augmented support to the Local Government Unit (LGU) in conducting field validation of beneficiaries for the Social Amelioration Program (SAP). The said program is a cash emergency subsidy support of the government to people affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) this pandemic season.
Also, on 26 April, CFSI helped the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP), a New York-based organization, in handing over dignity kits to 385 women beneficiaries in Sagonsongan Transitory Shelter. The dignity kits included sanitary pads, toiletries, hygiene products, reusable face masks, and ascorbic acid supplements.
CFSI is committed to rebuild lives of uprooted persons together with different United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, governments, and private institutions on protecting and promoting human security of people in difficult circumstances in the Asia and the Pacific region. #
