Through the assistance of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), refugees explored job opportunities at a Job Fair in Taguig City on 1 May 2019. This was in line with the activities of the local government in observance of Labor Day. Since 2017, refugees and asylum-seekers have been able to better secure employment in the Philippines. This is due to DOLE Department Order No. 186, Series of 2017, which exempts foreigners identified as such from work permit requirements.

Through the Urban Refugee Project (URP), a long-standing project partnership between CFSI and the UNHCR, efforts continue to be made to work with the Philippine Government to integrate refugees in the local economy.
