Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is now collaborating with the Marawi Recovery Project (MRP).
MSF is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.
On 7 March 2019, MSF has taken in 16 MRP beneficiaries for free medical consultations at the of Sagonsongan Transitory Shelter Health Center in Marawi City.
Some MRP beneficiaries who were taken to the MSF doctors were from the Municipalities of Piagapo and Marantao; Barangay Mipaga, and Bito Buadi Itowa Evacuation Center.
MSF responded to beneficiaries with various health concerns through free medical checkups and medicines.
MRP continues to refer its beneficiaries who are suffering from illness to MSF in their office in the City Health Office (CHO) in the Marawi City Hall.
The Marawi Recovery Project (MRP), funded by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), aims to promote the protection, psychosocial and economic recovery of at least 4,000 households displaced by the Marawi crisis, thereby enabling an improved quality of life, strengthen relations between peoples, and foster greater prospects for peace.
