MARAWI CITY – Community and Family Services International (CFSI) continues to deliver its services amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis to support the vulnerable sector in earning income for their families. This is part of the livelihood component of the Marawi Recovery Project (MRP).
This April, 10 households has already received printing and laminating sets in Barangay Guimba. A total of 66 packages are set to be distributed to Boganga Lakeview Transitory Shelter and Barangay Papandayan Canioganin Marawi City, and the municipalities of Masiu, Marogong, and Madamba in Lanao del Sur.
Of the 66 livelihood packages, 47 are printing and lamination sets while 19 are sewing sets.
The livelihood packages are delivered to the homes of the beneficiaries while observing physical distancing to avoid possible spread of COVID-19 to the MRP service sites. Some deliveries are also done in the municipal hall or in a certain meet up point agreed upon by MRP staff and the project participants as compliance to lockdown measures implemented in the barangays.
The MRP project participants specifically identified the livelihood packages based on their analysis of the community’s needs. They underwent livelihood orientation and basic financial management and bookkeeping to equip them with knowledge and skills on basic enterprise.
CFSI, in partnership with the Australian Government, implements the MRP since 2017 to promote protection, psychosocial and livelihood recovery of 6,500 households affected by the Marawi crisis.
