Zamboanga City – A total of 272 Sama Bajau households received P1,500 each as aid to buy food items amid COVID-19 through the Community and Family Services International (CFSI).
Household-beneficiaries claimed the cash assistance through a remittance center which was done in batches to ensure social distancing and avoid overcrowding.
A young mother beneficiary from Brgy. Kasanyangan shared that the cash assistance is a big help to buy milk for her child especially with the current situation.
This initiative is part of Sama Bajau Education Support Project (SBESP) implemented by CFSI with funding support from EDUCO Philippines. SBESP aims to provide greater opportunities for 400 Sama Bajau adolescent children and young adults to access education through the Alternative Learning System (ALS).
