In celebration of Children’s Month last November 2019, CFSI, through the Park Avenue Initiative (PAI), participated in various activities for the promotion and protection of the rights of children and youth.
Throughout the month of November, CFSI visited various barangays in Pasay City to conduct learning activities for children about their fundamental rights using child-friendly methods such as story-telling, music, and games.
On 9 November, CFSI youth volunteers participated in the “Bata Kasali Ka” Young Facilitators Training at the Museo Pambata, which was a prelude to the “Bata Kasali Ka” Forum on Children Participation held 23 November. Both activities were organized by the Council for the Welfare of Children.
During the 17th State of the City Children’s Address of the Pasay City Social Welfare and Development Department last 14 November, CFSI was recognized for its efforts in supporting the welfare of children in Pasay City
CFSI was also present during the Ako Para sa Bata International Conference conducted by the Child Protection Network. Held 19 to 20 November at the SMX Convention Center, the Ako Para sa Bata annual conference was participated by child protection officers and service providers for continuing capacity development.
The Park Avenue Initiative is being implemented by CFSI in Pasay City with the aim to address the impact of poverty through promoting and testing community-based initiatives in child protection, youth development, and opportunity-creation.
