Iligan City, Mindanao, Philippines – On 28 July, Executive Director Steven Muncy and other CFSI colleagues consulted officials from the Marawi City Government about the evolving humanitarian response to the displacement of more than 360,000 persons in the Lanao region of Mindanao. The displacement was caused by two months of intensive armed conflict in the City that shows little prospect of ending soon. They also spoke about anticipated recovery needs and recommended approaches. CFSI has been responding to the Marawi Crisis since 25 May, with Farida Mangcaan, Head of the Sub-Office in Iligan, playing a critical operations leadership role.
