Six months ago, on November 8, 2013, Typhoon Haiyan (known locally as Yolanda) – one of the most powerful typhoons ever recorded – struck the Philippines with deadly force. It made land six times as it passed through the Philippines, affecting more than 13 million people, displacing more than 4 million, killing more than 6,000, and either damaging or destroying more than 1 million homes.

In response to the unprecedented scale of devastation, CFSI launched a range of emergency interventions in the hardest hit areas. Six months on, CFSI teams are still working in the Eastern Visayas region, providing humanitarian relief for devastated communities in Tacloban and Ormoc in Leyte and Guiuan in Eastern Samar.

CFSI is working closely with its long-time partners, the Philippine Government’s Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), various United Nations agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and, most importantly, the affected populations to rebuild lives in some of the most severely affected areas of the Visayas.

Please help CFSI continue to respond to this tragic natural disaster. Every contribution counts!

Donations can be made to the following accounts, while cheques can be made out to CFSI and mailed to CFSI, MCC – PO Box 2733, Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines. CFSI will ensure receipts are quickly issued and all donors are properly acknowledged.
