CFSI’s Child Protection and Education Project (CPEP) and new donor the Sarang Bangun Learning Center distributed toys and more than 200 pairs of slippers on February 12, 2014, to displaced children sheltering at Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex in Zamboanga City.
The children are among the more than 60,000 people who were displaced in the city following conflict between the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines in September.

CFSI has had a continuous presence in Zamboanga City since 17 September, working with a range of partners to provide much-needed humanitarian interventions, including the Philippine Department of Social Welfare and Development, UNICEF and Western Mindanao State University’s College of Social Work and Community Development.
“We’re doing our very best to serve the IDPS here in Zamboanga City,” Ms Ladjaanang said.
