On 24 July 2019, members of the UNHCR Protection staff , led by UNHCR Country Representative Mr. Shiji Kubo, visited the Urban Refugee Project (URP) Team of Community & Family Services International (CFSI) in Sub-Office Pasay City. Among the objectives of the visit was to discuss key operational updates, project accomplishments, challenges encountered, and plans for ways forward.

CFSI is the implementing partner of UNHCR in the Philippines for the Urban Refugee Project (URP) which supports the DOJ-RSPPU and provides free services and assistance to refugees and asylum-seekers, such as:

  • Guidance and counselling services
  • Psycho-social support
  • Emergency life-sustaining assistance
  • Referral assistance to government agencies and NGOs
  • Advocacy for refugee rights and protection

The URP is a long-standing partnership between CFSI and UNHCR for over two decades, bringing service and support for refugees and asylum seekers in the Philippines.
