CFSI is expanding its recovery work in areas affected by Typhoon Odette (Rai), which struck the Philippines on 16 December 2021. The recovery operations are implemented in the Caraga Region. The aim is to strengthen the resilience of critical WASH infrastructure and systems in schools, enhance capacity in integrating climate change education, and improve youth participation in WASH, DRR, and CCAM activities. In this context, CFSI seeks qualified applicants with significant experience in the helping professions to be based in Surigao City with extensive fieldwork in the Province of Dinagat Islands.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Logistics Assistant will be responsible for assessing and organizing logistical requirements in terms of procurement of WASH supplies and materials; transport requirements; and receipt, handling, storage, and distribution of project materials.
  • S/he will fulfill all responsibilities transparently and efficiently in accordance with established procedures and standards governing the project.
  • S/he will inform the project team on matters related to logistics and schedule of deliveries.
  • The Logistics Assistant will also ensure the care and maintenance of the field office, premises, equipment, furniture and fixtures, and project assets including vehicles, computer hardware, and software.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in WASH, procurement, safeguarding, distribution, and accounting for goods, supplies, and services in response to a humanitarian emergency.
  • Experience in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
  • Good knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with limited supervision.
  • Good verbal and written proficiency in English is required, ideally complemented with proficiency in Cebuano, Visayan, and/or Surigao-on dialects.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-cultural setting.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent people skills, strong mathematical and analytical skills, excellent English language and writing skills, and proficiency in the use of project management software.
  • Highly proficient with personal computers and appropriate software.
  • Willing to travel extensively in remote areas.
  • Willing to work beyond the normal work hours, to deliver own work expectations to meet project deliverables.
