Displacement, owing primarily to violence and secondarily to natural disaster, marks the life history of many communities in Mindanao. More than 930,000 persons were displaced by war in 2000, and another 440,000 persons were forced to flee their homes in 2003. CFSI has responded to these emergencies since 2000. This monograph recounts the stories of some of those displaced in Central Mindanao – more importantly, their struggles and successes to achieve sustainable return or resettlement with the support of CFSI and its partners.
