Community and Family Services International (CFSI), the Social Welfare Committee of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF-SWC), and the Swiss Embassy continue to work together in supporting para-social workers in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
On 31 March 2019, CFSI hosted the visit of the Swiss Embassy Delegation and the MILF-SWC at CFSI’s Operations Center in Cotabato City.
In attendance were staff, management, and guests of CFSI together with CFSI Board Member Atty. Michael Mastura, ten Para-Social Workers, select members of the MILF-SWC with Honorable Minister Aida Silongan, and distinct guests from the Swiss Embassy, including Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Mathias Domenig and Her Excellency Ambassador Andrea Reichlin.
The occasion was held not only to celebrate the significant milestones achieved from the previous collaboration between the Swiss Embassy, CFSI, and the MILF-SWC under the Building on the Fresh Start Project (BFSP), but also to conduct the ceremonial signing of the second project partnership agreement for the Para-Social Worker Training Project (PSWTP).
The BFSP, a project implemented by CFSI supported by the Swiss Embassy, paved the way to address specific identified needs at the community level and to strengthen the engagement between CFSI and the MILF-SWC. The outcomes of this project led to the inception of the PSWTP which will allow CFSI to implement training modules on social work to 100 para-social workers of the MILF-SWC in three operational hubs in the BARMM, namely Cotabato City, Marawi City, and Zamboanga City.
