In celebration of CFSI’s 45th anniversary, Executive Director Steven Muncy joined the “Find Your Cause” podcast by the Greater Than Zero Percent (GTZP) Foundation for a candid conversation on CFSI’s mission, its journey, in the last 45 years and the communities served by CFSI.

“We’ve learned that in conflict areas, relationships and trust matter most. You have to stay for the long haul. We focus on basic needs: food security, building schools, and social protection… We even support our staff in getting master’s degrees or doctorate so they have credentials to affect long-term change.”

Looking forward to the next 45 years, the Executive Director shared, “We need to learn we are all part of the same family and resolve conflict without damage. We also need to speak to power. Often, powerful men are making decisions that bring war to the communities, and we need to stand up to that.”

Over four decades of staying, listening, and building trust have shaped how CFSI works today, vigorously protecting the lives, well-being, and dignity of persons forced to flee across Asia, with a focus in SouthEast Asia.
