CFSI is pleased to announce that five local civil society organizations (CSOs) have been selected to receive grants under the Capacity Strengthening for Localization Project (CSLP). Supported by the Australian Government, the CSLP aims to strengthen the capacity of the Philippine Inclusive NGO Network (PINGON) and support locally led humanitarian action and disaster risk reduction initiatives through grants to local CSOs.1. “Siargao Civil Society Disaster Preparedness and Coordination Playbook” will be developed with local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) actors, community organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen disaster preparedness and coordination among local CSOs and businesses in Siargao.
2. Maranao People Development Center (MARADECA)
“Strengthening Community-based Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Resilience in Vulnerable Communities in Lanao del Sur” through localized and participatory approaches.
3. Philippine Relief And Development Services, Inc. (PHILRADS)
“Shelter Strengthening” aims to enhance the disaster preparedness and resilience of vulnerable households in typhoon-prone communities in the Municipality of Baggao in Cagayan Province through capacity building and the provision of essential shelter-strengthening materials.
4. Ranao Women & Children Resource Center, Inc. (RWCRC)
“Strengthening Child Protection Mechanism in the Municipalities of Matanog and Balabagan in Lanao del Sur” aims to contribute to more resilient communities and enhance response and recovery efforts through capacity strengthening, awareness raising, policy advocacy, and community empowerment.
5. United Youth for Peace and Development-Relief Assistance Network and Organization (UNYPAD-Lanao)
“Lake Lanao Shield: Ecosystem-Based Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Adaptation Led by Youth and Fisher Folk” aims to strengthen DRR and management systems with concrete ecosystem rehabilitation, ensuring that both planning and implementation are locally owned and sustainable.
