To help in gathering timely information to address the needs of vulnerable sector amidst COVID-19 Crisis, CFSI carried out a Rapid Information Communication Accountability Assessment (RICAA) in the National Capital Region (NCR) from 29 March to 01 April 2020. It is CFSI’s contribution to the broader effort of the Community of Practice on Community Engagement (CoPCE) led by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA). It aims assist the Department of Health (DOH) of the Philippines in addressing feedback and capturing the needs of the vulnerable sector through community-based surveys.

CFSI staff and volunteers conducted data gathering in Pasay City through CFSI’s Park Avenue Initiative (PAI). PAI aims to address the impact of poverty through promoting and testing community-based initiatives in child protection, youth development, and opportunity-creation.

Vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers in the NCR were also interviewed through phone calls by CFSI Social Workers under the Urban Refugee Project (URP). URP aims to assist in filling in the gaps in the social protection duties of the Philippine Government and to engage concerned government agencies in providing services to refugees and asylum seekers.

Data from the interviews by CFSI and other partners will be consolidated by the UN OCHA and will be made available to the DOH, as well as to humanitarian and development partners.
